CHRISTMAS PRIME RIB

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 pound prime rib

  • 1 cup whole garlic

  • 1 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 onions peeled and quartered

  • 4 peeled carrots large bias cut

  • 1 cup fresh thyme

  • 2 cups Montreal steak seasoning

  • 8 cups hot water

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1
Place rib roast on a plate and bring to room temperature, may take 3-4 hours.

Step 2
Preheat an oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).

Step 3
I recommend Montreal steak seasoning however use the seasoning of choice and apply generously all over the trimmed prime rib. Place all of the other ingredients in the pan to create your au jus with the drippings.

Step 4
Roast the 6-pound prime rib in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes, turn the oven off. Do not open the oven. Leave the roast in the oven with the door closed and let the roast sit in the oven for 2 hours. Remove roast from the oven, slice, and serve. It will be perfect!
